primulus i dont see anything that i would consider oh crap in L's final affinity mission, care to explain what you mean. Sure. Spoiler texting this one. It's the part where you have to fight Telethia, the Endbringer and take off 5% of its HP.

I realized that there's another song that I failed to spotlight in my thoughts yesterday. So nah, so fern has become one of my favorite vocal songs after I heard it in context last night. The first time the song played in chapter 9 was alright. But this time, it left a huge impression on me. Such a gorgeous song that coincided perfectly with the scene it played in.

The Key We Lost is such a brilliant final boss theme. I didn't know it was going to be used for that - I figured it'd be used more like the Engage the Enemy or Unfinished Battle of this game but I kept waiting for it and nothing. I finally had just assumed it was purely trailer music and forgot about it. Then it just kicks in right at the start of the fight, it's perfect. The only thing that bothers me is that they don't loop the song properly. It just ends and then restarts like a lot of songs do in this game but here it was just so noticeable. And the ending is very mindblowing. They pretty much have to make a sequel now right? It's also very weird looking at the characters now. Are they really people? They're more like extremely advanced AI based on people who died. The mim concept only made me feel a bit unnerved by the characters but they were still people, what I was seeing were just robots controlled by them. But now... they're really just an advance program being run by a supercomputer... or they were. Now they're who-knows-what? This game definitely follows up the first one with the mindblowing ending primulus i dont see anything that i would consider oh crap in L's final affinity mission, care to explain what you mean. They probably mean when the game makes it look like you have to fight Telethia. I definitely was like "You want me to what?!" EDIT: Ah, missed Primulus's post.

Also, which final boss is generally considered harder? I found Lao to be a lot easier than the Vita.

But now... they're really just an advance program being run by a supercomputer... or they were. Now they're who-knows-what? This game definitely follows up the first one with the mindblowing ending It's an appropriately Takahashi-esque question of existentialism. What makes us who we are anyway? We're basically just biological computers that operate on electrical synapses and flows of chemicals. How are we that different from the mimeosomes? Mira effectively imbued the mims with a "soul". They are free from the mainframe they were designed to depend upon, but they are also one-of-a-kind and lost forever when they perish. Whether or not humanity on Mira is doomed depends on whether they can find a way to produce any new humans from the Lifehold, I guess (new beings, not the ones who were supposed to be saved). And on that subject, you wonder what happened to the other few ark ships that successfully escaped. Also, which final boss is generally considered harder? I found Lao to be a lot easier than the Vita. You can find my comments on the first page. Neither phase was really more difficult than the other, and neither was "easy" because I wasn't L60. Beating the Vita was a matter of dealing with the shield generator thing, and for me, beating Lao was a matter of keeping the Chimeras distracted so I could take him down without being overwhelmed. Considering how much stronger I am since then and how immediately punishing it was, the Rexoskell fight must be harder than either the Vita or Lao, which is why I asked what you thought of it in the shoutbox. But you were better-prepared for that one than I was.

so something i did not know, i just found out the the hooded figure that approaches lao not only has a name (the black Knight) but also has official artwork in the Xenoblade X the secret file i really dont need to post a picture but i believe that we can tell that he likely either has had contact with humans or is a human himself judging from the equipment he is wearing, at first glance it looks as if he is using a katana but i dont think that is the case. The handle is the key here as only one weapon has that handle type and that is the Carbide Slair II a grenada weapon, his armor also resembles the torse line/dougs default equipment but it looks to be extremely damaged which is also grenada equipment. Being that doug is supposed to be a very skilled skell pilot it migh be surmised that it could also be some form of skell wear which could mean that he came from the vita wreakage in noctilum. just some food for thought

I think that would be an interesting exercise between the bunch of us, particularly those interested in theorizing on the next game. My present theory is that the pilot left behind in the Original Ares is going to be the main character of the next game, instead of having an avatar. In any case, I doubt the Black Knight was either the original pilot of the Vita or was originally human. Why would he have his own unique skell if that were the case? And his skell doesn't look particularly human in origin either, at least in design philosophy, compared to human skells.

I really hope Monolith Soft will do a follow-up for this game...it would be extremely unfortunate to let the universe established in this game go to waste.

At this point I'm holding onto the idea they got two Xenoblade teams going with the intention of releasing a game every 2.5-3 years, with the idea being a portion of the team splits off and starts development on the next title. Xenoblade 2 probably started serious development around mid 2014, judging from how baked it looks already. I wouldn't be shocked if XCX-2 had been in planning stages since last year. Maybe we will see a XCX-2 2019 release.

Based on the number of employees Monolith Soft have (which was 109 as of June 2016), the company doesn't appear to be large enough to handle two large-scale RPGs at once. However, they somehow pulled off a new Xenoblade game just under 2 years after XCX. They also seem pretty confident in releasing XC2 this year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for XCX2!

1. There are a few options for why they fought, but before getting there, I'd like to point out a few things first off, I'd like to identify them. First there are the Ganglion, which we know from the story. They were originally called GROWTH (similar to how Skells were originally called "Dolls"), similarly the purple aliens that destroyed Earth don't have an official name, so for now they're called the GHOSTS. The only thing we've seen from the GHOSTS is the biological weapons used by their civilization, which are the purple aliens. These aliens are covered in some purple gel, which appears in other locations such as the Vita's core, possibly the Tainted, and most interestingly, the original Ares that Elma piloted. The Vita's core is identified as dark matter (though I think it's antimatter in the Japanese version, correct me if I'm wrong) by Elma during Chapter 6. Also looking at the concept art for Elma's Ares and the ghosts, both are a purple color and covered with red eyes. Considering the similarities between Elma's Ares and the GHOSTs, it's likely that the reason the GHOSTs attacked earth had something to do with Elma. Also since the Ganglion had the Vita, which was also a GHOST Skell, the GHOSTs could've wanted something to do with that. I'd also like to point out that "Vita" is Italian for "life" and the Ganglion were originally called "GROWTH", both of these are related to life. In comparison, a ghost is a spirit that lingers after death. This could translate into something related to the GHOSTs and Ganglion in the future, but for now, it's just something small worth noting. Yet another thing that should be brought up is the conversation Goetia has with Luxaar at the beginning of chapter 6. In it, Goetia brings up a "Samaar Federation homeland" suggesting that either the Great One or the Samaar Federation homeland could be around Mira. It's also worth mentioning that in that conversation, Goetia mentions that after fighting the GHOSTs on Earth, they were swallowed up in a "strange light" and trapped on Mira. Similarly, none of the other races can leave Mira either. An example of this being in the Professor B sidequests, he attempts to build a time machine, but after completing the quest he finds out that he can't leave Mira. In the main story, during Chapter 5, the Ma-non state that their navigation device "goes all screwy" and they wind up on Mira. They also state that Samaar wanted the Ma-non technology. This does not mean that the GHOSTs are the Samaarians, the reason I say this is because of Elma referring to Goetia as a "Samaarian Witch" in Chapter 7 and Goetia bringing up the "Samaar Federation homeland" in Chapter 6, suggesting that Goetia is a Samaarian. If the Samaarians and GHOSTs were one in the same, that would mean that the Great One would have to be a Samaarian, and Goetia most likely joined the Ganglion alongside the Great One, it would also mean that Elma would most likely be a Samaarian, this doesn't work because of Elma referring to Goetia as a "Samaarian Witch", suggesting animosity towards the Samaarians. Elma could technically lack memory, but that would be too much of a stretch. The important takeaway is that Elma and the Great One are GHOSTs, Goetia is a Samaarian, and the Ganglion are looking for the Samaar Federation homeland. If Elma is or was working with the GHOSTs, it's safe to assume that the GHOSTs wanted to control and contain a small population of humans for something. Considering that the humans hold Samaarian DNA which at the very least could be an effective weapon against the Ganglion, that's a possible motive behind Project Exodus and explanation on why the GHOSTs attacked Earth. The Ganglion would've attack Earth in hopes of stopping the GHOSTs from getting the DNA since human DNA has the potential to lead to the Ganglion's extinction. There are a few lines of dialogue that Elma says that mat suggest her knowing this. For example in Chapter 7, she says "[the Ganglion] fear humans... They feel threatened", which is later confirmed by Ga Jiarg in Chapter 9 and then Lao in Chapter 12. Irina quickly points out that the humans aren't threatening the Ganglion or trying to wipe them out, the only way Elma could've drawn that conclusion that early in the game is if she already knew that the Ganglion were weak to human DNA. However, I don't think that Elma is the one pulling the strings, as she mentions plenty of times, she doesn't know what's going on with Mira. Also during Chapter 1 when Nagi spends 10 minutes on exposition, after asking about the Earth, Elma says "I still wonder if I hadn't been there, maybe all of this could have somehow been avoided." Even though Elma's being vague here, it's safe to assume that she's wondering if her going to Earth was what caused the GHOSTs to attack it. Suggesting that while Elma isn't completely innocent, she isn't entirely to blame for Earth's destruction. Long story short, the reason the GHOSTs and Ganglion were fighting on Earth was that the GHOSTs wanted human DNA and/or Elma and the Ganglion didn't want the GHOSTs to get it. 2. The original Ares was a two-person Skell, Elma was one of the pilots. Like Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade X has a series of short stories. Here's a link: xenoblade.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:33502In the second story it's revealed that after fighting off the GHOSTs, the Ares was lost somewhere in space, Elma must've been ejected while the person she was driving it with is somewhere out in space, which is referenced to in the song "In the Forest" with the lyrics, "she was standing there, in the hangar, hatch was open then, there's no one there. He was drift 'long, in the universe, that was last time I saw his face." 3. Human DNA is poisonous to the Ganglion, if I'm right about the GHOSTs wanting to use it as a weapon (with the Lifehold Core perhaps), then the Ganglion would pretty much have to eradicate humanity to ensure their survival. 4. Goetia is a Samaarian, she's hoping to find the Samaar Federation homeland. This location could've been alluded to in the side-quest "A Fateful Choice" where if you kill Telethia the Endbringer, it's revealed that the Ovah (the thing the Orphe use for survival) comes from a water planet that the Telethia also came from. She's also most likely the Ganglion's sole strategist considering that she's the only member of the Ganglion that actually managed to destroy parts of the Lifehold, and she's the only one to use fake outs, in comparison Ryyz and Daghan fought head on then used a giant ass robot, Ga Jiarg and Ga Buidhe are more concerned with honor than strategy, and Luxaar managed to wreck a level 150 Skell (considering that according to the Vita's description, Luxaar could only use 1/3 of its full power and the Vita is level 50). Goetia on the other hand managed to do more damage than all them with much weaker equipment. Which once again, suggests she was the strategist. 5. The BLADE tower was counting down how much battery was left in the Lifehold Core. 6. Mira magic, or as Elma said, "there's something about this planet." 7. The Great One is most likely a GHOST that joined the Ganglion. He owns a level 150 Skell called the Vita. The Great One is likely the same species as Elma, Elma owns an overpowered Skell called the Ares that can cut through GHOSTs like butter. 8. The Vita is a level 150 GHOST Skell that belongs to the Great One. Luxaar is only able to pilot it at 1/3 of its full potential. Between the attack on Earth and appearing on Mira, the Vita was crippled and dropped off in Noctilum. Most likely the source of the Tainted wildlife in the area. 9. Elma's Skell, the original Ares. He likely was referring to the development of the Prog Ares and how it was based on Elma's original Ares. He probably thought of it because the original Ares and Vita share a similar design. 10. According to the enemy index, Telethia the Endbringer is "Mira's guardian and culler of unclean lifeforms," the Tainted have been, well tainted. They're no longer clean lifeforms. Also considering L's final affinity mission, The Nopon Heir, it's stated that Telethia the Endbringer seems to favor humanity. 11. At the end of the game, he was taken by an unknown character currently called the "Black Knight". Based on this concept art, it's safe to assume that the Black Knight took Lao to a fortress stationed in Mira's orbit. Perhaps then we can see what xenoforms want with human DNA (assuming that Lao is in human body opposed to mimeosome body). If I were to harbor a guess, I'd assume it had to do with the Samaar Federation homeland. I'd also like to point out a mysterious golden Vita that appears in Concept Art and Official Art. This implies either that the Black Knight found Elma's Skell or the Black Knight is also a GHOST that owns a dark matter Skell (like the Vita and Ares). Also in the Official Art, the golden Vita is leaking and the random soldiers in the background are surrounded by purple gas. That can't be good for their health. By the way, the official art takes place in Cauldros. I know this because of the circle in the background being similar to circles that can be found on the Giants' Ruins in Cauldros. It's not a perfect match, but I think this is what the artist was going for when drawing that circle. 12. Deadly human DNA. Plus the potential of the GHOSTs using it against them. 13. Up until Chapter 12, it's under the sea. The reason I know this is I replayed the game and swam all the way to where the Lifehold Core is and it wasn't there. So some time between Chapter 11 and Chapter 12, the Lifehold Core magically wound up in the middle of the ocean (or the Ganglion picked it up with Luxaar's ship). 14. Yes. Eventually the GHOSTs will attack the humans (considering that they're the ones that put humanity on Mira and also stuck the Ganglion there), and it will not be pretty. I suspect that there might be Tainted Humans coming our way in the future. (The tainted are purple versions of normal enemies that went mad, they can only be found near where the Vita crashed, the Vita is GHOST technology, so the GHOSTs most likely can taint organic lifeforms, so this means the humans will get their real bodies back and then people will become tainted humans at some point). This could also be foreshadowed by the official art for the Golden Vita where the random soldiers in the background are coughing up purple gases. Another thing that could be foreshadowing this are the lyrics to Black Tar where first off the GHOSTs are mentioned twice, but also "Black Tar" is talked about as if its a substance that's infecting people, causing the infected person to slowly go insane and become more animalistic and violent, described in lyrics like "witness to hell in the flesh." Going back to whether or not H.B. will ever stop succeeding, yes, he's not going to be able to stop the black tar and GHOSTs, or whatever their name is when Xenoblade X 2 eventually comes out. --- I hope my theories make sense and I would say "clear some things up", but this probably would just lead to more questions.

It would be quite interesting if Monolith Soft had the resources to release alternating titles with and without the 'X' suffix, spending enough time on each one to complete a game as complex as an RPG but giving the fans new titles more frequently. I suppose it could be possible if they combine technical work (game engine, gameplay mechanics) and even assets between the two series, while giving each one its own story and art direction and whatnot.
Perhaps Xenoblade would serve as a more experimental series, while Xenoblade X embodies another retelling of Takahashi-san's twice-unfinished science fiction epic. A twin series with more creative freedom could help support the continuation of X by drawing in people who are uninterested in a "traditional" Xeno game.

I didn't take the time to read most of them yet. But I'm positive Goetia isn't a Samaarian. Elma just called her that because, if I remember correctly, Elma hadn't yet heard the naem "Ganglion" on the Samaar Federation. Goetia is most likely Ganglion.

snoells314That is a massive post, so I'm going to go through point by point and respond to a few of these, since I think a few can be contested. 1. Even in the Japanese version, the Vita's core appears to be some kind of Dark Matter core. Antimatter, however, is used in the core of the weapons of the Ghost faction. I think the conclusion that the Original Ares is Ghost technology is a bit of a jump. "They look similar" do not mean that they actually are - unfortunately all the kanji that would identify whether it runs off of antimatter or dark matter appears to be redacted in the Secret File of Mira book. They did not end up looking similar as a final product in game, and there's no resemblance between Elma and the Ghost faction other than the color purple either. Similarly, assuming the Vita is a Ghost skell is a jump to conclusions, with no real evidence, particularly as even in concept art the Vita has no familiar elements with Ghost technology at all. This is evident in pages 204 and 205 of the book. In fact, even if the Ares is related to Ghost technology, that doesn't mean the Vita is, either. Furthermore, your understanding of what the Samaarians are seems to be spotty at best, so allow me to enlighten you. There are two definitions of Samaarians, not one, and the first is the original Samaarians who later founded the Samaar Federation. However, at some point, the Samaarian founders disappeared, but the Samaar Federation still exists. In this way, "Samaarian witch" refers to that Goetia is a member of the Samaarian Federation, but she is not one of the original Samaarians. The original Samaarians are the progenitors of mankind. 3. At this point, there's no indication of any motives of the Ghosts. It could certainly be that the Ghosts want to use mankind as a weapon, however I'm not so sure simply based on the opening scene. The Ghosts are incredibly powerful. In the opening cutscene, the Ganglion skells and vessels don't even get shown damaging a Ghost vessel or skell until after the launch of the Vita, suggesting that the Ganglion is actually the underdog in this match-up. It just doesn't seem like the Ghost faction really needs humanity based on what we've seen of them. Perhaps, however, there is some other reason, related to the Samaarian origins of mankind? 4. Goetia is not a Samaarian, once again. She is called Samaarian in the same way that all the Ganglion are Samaarians, they are a part of the Samaar Federation. Though the Ovah and Telethia do seem to share a common origin, there is no evidence to suggest that Goetia has that origin either. In the Chapter 6 scene, Goetia also expresses doubt to that Planet Mira is where the Great One or the Samaar Federation homeland (original planet?) is, and seems annoyed with Luxaar for even trying to search for them. She does not appear to have any particular sense of urgency other than escaping Mira, in part because she is trapped there with everyone else. 7. The assumption that the Great One has anything to do with the Ghosts is silly, because the assumption is pinned on that the Vita just happens to have that purple gel material over its core, which we haven't even gotten a good look at either the Original Ares or the Ghost technology to compare it, but to me at this point it actually looks like a different thing. 8. Where do you get the idea that it's level 150? There's no indication of this anywhere either. Or for that matter, Luxaar running it at 1/3rd power (I don't recall this number anywhere). The Vita possibly being the source of the Tainted is probably the only theory that works here, because it's pretty clear the area the Tainted called home was in a sphere of influence around the general vicinity of the Vita. However, it is quite interesting how it looks like the Vita has been there fore a very, very long time compared to the Ganglion. The armor was also blackened since ending up on Mira, as it originally had a more silvery look to its plating. 11. The pages with the Black Knight and whatever structure you have next to it are completely different parts of the same chapter. However, I've never bothered getting a translation of elements of the latter page. That said, there are other things I object to on this point. The Black Knight's skell is not the Vita's, as the Black Knight actually has his own skell identified on Page 268 and 269. The Japanese text labels it "Black Knight's Doll", making it pretty certain. There is currently no indication that the Black Knight has anything to do with the Vita, and the Black Knight's skell has no clear design similarities with the Vita. The art with Doug and Lao does not feature a golden Vita, and no part of it resembles a Vita - the cylindrical chest piece makes it look man-made, and the only purple part is the visor section of the skell. Further eliminating any possibility here is that those golden Vita designs you see in the other page posted are alternate possible designs they went with for the Vita. The page begins with design C2, and goes on to design D, E, F and G. The previous page features designs A, B and C. These are not all separately existing Vitas, these were all various designs being considered. You can see similar pages for Celica and L, as well as some other characters, all throughout the book. 12. This is the same point as #3, but repeated for some reason. 13. Probably true. If the landing didn't cause the damage that trashed the interior of the core, it could have been water pressure, since the Lifehold Core probably wasn't designed to withstand atmospheric pressure greater than 1 or 2. Alternatively, however, it may have been in low orbit if it detached early in the crash, but if so this should have made it easier to detect and find not only for the Ganglion, but also for humans in NLA, if not just for the fact that it should've been visible as it passed by in the sky in its orbital periods. 14. This assumes that artwork is of a golden Vita. It is not a Golden Vita and has no resemblance to the Vita. However, the possibility of the Tainted becoming a more significant threat in the future of Mira is certainly one I've entertained in the past as well. I just don't think it would be connected to any gold Vita piloted by Lao. There is no gold Vita in that image, and the golden Vita designs aren't in the Unidentified Materials section which implies there was only on the one Vita to begin with, and those were just alternate designs, not alternate models which exists in universe. Whew. I would advise being more careful and not jumping to conclusions. At least some mild understanding of Japanese text and use of skepticism would also work if you're going to try to interpret the artbooks, as the Japanese text actually gives a lot of context to a lot of things. For instance, on the page right after the "Space Station" there is a ship clearly labeled "Qlurian" in Japanese text.

First off, I wonder if snoells314 has joined us from the Xenoblade wiki, perhaps on invitation from Momo, because his/her theories are like those I've seen from comments sections over there. In any case, welcome to Xenoboards. 12. This is the same point as #3, but repeated for some reason. The points are responses to each of DarknessLink7's prompts from the OP, which I didn't get right away either. On point #13, does the Lifehold Core really not appear until Chapter 12 is unlocked? I don't remember my exact progress at the time, but I was one of the players who found it before BLADE did. By its shape through the haze, my thought was "scary end of the game place" because its architecture reminded me of the ancient (Eldridge) technology in Xenogears, so I steered clear, not considering the possibility that it was the Lifehold Core. I only ask because snoells314 mentioned swimming there, but of course, you can jet over the water in a skell as quickly as flying, with or without the flight module. A personal goal of mine has been to 100% the game without using fast travel even once, so I've done a lot of "sailing" in my skell (it also saves on fuel).

EDIT: I've been looking into the kanji in the page that was hypothesized to be where the Black Knight took Lao. At no point in that page is the Black Knight mentioned from what I can tell. However, the "space station" has an odd name. It appears to be called the "Rose Garden" (I'm an incredibly slow reader when it comes to kanji though, so I haven't looked at much besides the title, and looking for any mention of the Black Knight). I'll probably see if I can translate more of it later or perhaps contact someone much, much more fluent in Japanese than I.

Welcome to Xenoboards, snoells314! Very interesting first post! Thanks for contributing! There is so much potential in expanding the story of planet Mira... I really hope XB2 ties together the whole story of the first game and this one (though I doubt it).

Welcome to Xenoboards, snoells314! Very interesting first post! Thanks for contributing! There is so much potential in expanding the story of planet Mira... I really hope XB2 ties together the whole story of the first game and this one (though I doubt it). I've already theorized that Xenoblade 2 is the origin of the Samaarians and some of the other XCX races, including possibly Elma. But that's mostly due to the visual motifs suggesting a bridge between XC and XCX (like the Lifehold/Zohar on the 'Not-Monado' and the sword women who look like Elma). A game that's supposed to revolve around what a lot of people seem to be is a reference to the world tree Ygdrassil would make sense to be home to several different races, and I honestly would expect to see an elven race such as Celica's. Of coutse, we already see Nopon but they're a series staple at this point. Let's also not forget how Zanza told Egil they're descendents would visit other worlds (and they weren't referring to just the bionis). Unless I'm looking too deep into this, I'm pretty sure that line is also a hint at future Xeno titles. But again, I'm just spit balling at this point.

I have a save that's currently pre-chapter 12 if you want me to check, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't appear until chapter 12 is started. I must have spotted it in the window between unlocking Chapter 12 and actually doing the story mission.

Primulus, so I'm going to try to explain myself as well as I can. First off, I don't know Japanese or anyone that does. I've been looking at the concept art from Xenoblade Wiki. Also, just pointing out, the archives that referred to the Ghost's cores as antimatter, also called the White Whale the "Moby Dick", Skells "Dolls", Vadham "Van Damme", someone I can't identify called "Mei" (maybe Irina?), and some enemy was called "Silnea" (I'm guessing either a Simius or Cenicula). This was written before a lot of name changes happened, so it's entirely possible that "antimatter" was replaced with "dark matter" to make it sound more menacing. There's a difference between looking similar in the sense of perhaps the Ma-non ship sharing the same color scheme as Pharsis the Everqueen and the Ghosts and the Ares having the same coloring AND red eyes (the Vita also has a red eye in the final product). Also I'm not saying that the color purple automatically means Ghost, but as far as the Vita goes, if you go to enemy index and find the Vita it says the following: "The ultimate Skell, created with technology unknown to both human and Ganglion.
Its body is composed of dark matter, which the craft absorbs from its surroundings. Any surplus of dark matter can be transformed into deadly missiles or autonomous support craft capable of aiding the Vita's assaults.
These abilities vary, however, depending on the skill of the pilot. Luxaar, for example, can only use the Vita at 30% capacity. This pales in comparison to the craft's true master, a mysterious figure only known as 'the Great One.'"
This is what I meant by the Vita being around level 150, also the reason I said it was probably Ghost technology is that from the Xenoblade X short stories, we know the Ghosts are not made of normal matter, I believe it was changed from "antimatter" to "dark matter" between when this was written and when the game was released, similar to other assets in the game because "dark" is more menacing than "anti" and it wouldn't really make a lot of sense for Xenoblade X to have a lot of dark matter and then throw in antimatter in X2 because that would require Monolith to make a distinction between dark matter and antimatter despite both being purple gel (which probably isn't how they work in real life anyways). We know the Vita is made of dark matter and that it wasn't made by the humans or Ganglion. The list of other Skell-making races are the Qlurians, Samaarians (possibly, though there isn't anything pointing for or against it), Ghosts, Wrothians, and Elma's species. The Ganglion are acquainted with Qlurians and Wrothians, so they couldn't have made the Vita, the original Samaarians could have, but we don't know anything about them other than the Samaarians created the humans, Ganglion, and Zaruboggan. That leaves the Ghosts and Elma's species. Elma's Skell and Ghost Skells both look similar to the Vita, even though you said looking the same and being the same are different things, I'd like to point out that there are a limited number of things that look like the Ghosts, I'll make a list: the Tainted, the Vita, the original Ares, something being emitted from Mira in a piece of concept art, some enemies, one thing a Ma-non holds in Boze's first affinity mission, and Millisaur s***. Out of these, the original Ares, Vita, and Tainted have something besides coloring linking them to the Ghosts; the Ares has a similar design and the Vita has some backstory that might link it. Also I want to say that the "Golden Vita" that I was referring to probably isn't the Vita, rather a Skell created by the same civilization that built the Vita and/or Elma's Ares. And I wasn't claiming that Lao is the driver, sorry if that was unclear. I was bringing up the possibility of the golden Skell being involved with Lao in the future since a similar looking Skell does appear in official art. Speaking of the Golden Skell, unless you can identify exactly what it's supposed to be, I'm going to assume it's the Golden Skell from the concept art. Also, I'm not saying that the Black Knight will pilot the Golden Skell, but what I am saying is that it will appear in the future and be an obstacle. Going to your point of the Golden Skell looking "man made", the Skell looks old, its metal appears to be melting, and it's leaking purple gases. There's no reason that humans would make a Golden Skell with that many maintenance issues. You kept mentioning designs without showing them, can you please find images of the designs that you speak of since visual evidence helps, and it also gives me an idea of what you're talking about without having to look it up. Concerning your point on why the Ghosts would be interested in using human DNA as a weapon. Two reasons: 1) Why waste resources on a fight when getting a supply of another resource allows you to pretty much instantly win (evident by just 20,000,000 humans being able to bring the Ganglion to their knees in a matter of months while the Ghosts have been fighting the Ganglion for at least 30 years and still haven't won) 2) If the Ganglion are weak to DNA as a failsafe set up by the Samaarians, it's entirely possible that there are other races with the same weakness that the Ghosts might want to exploit. 3) "Samaar Federation homeland being somewhere around Mira or on Mira" + "Samaarian DNA in humans" = probably something important. You said something about the "Black Knight's Doll", and a few other designs, please show images of the pictures you're talking about. Relating to what you said about the Samaarians, first off, where is it specified that the Samaarians and Samaar Federation are different things. Second, even if they are, Elma probably knows this and still called Goetia a "Samaarian Witch" and Goetia is still concerned with finding the "Samaar Federation homeland", which to me, unless there is something in the game, concept art, or Xenoblade X short stories that directly contradicts the Samaar Federation and Samaarians being the same thing, I don't have any reason to believe that there's a difference. Going to your point for 13, no the Lifehold Core could not have been in Mira's orbit, that's because in Chapter 10, Elma states that if the Lifehold was too far away, the mimeosomes would experience lag. Also, I swear I'm not jumping to conclusions, all of this was thought out a while ago, I also was more concerned with showing the evidence that I found most convincing towards Elma being a Ghost. That's why I said nothing about "Ghost Factory" and her purple eyes. Sorry if I came across as rude, I just mean to say please show your evidence against my argument before discrediting mine and I have thought things out before I said anything (trust me, I've been trying to figure out where the plot might go since sometime around last September and I've discussed with someone over it on the Xenoblade X wiki).
