The purpose of this thread is to ask, answer, or speculate upon unanswered questions from Xenoblade Chronicles. Obviously there are spoilers ahead, so consider yourself warned! Spoiler tags will not be necessary in this case. However, if you're only speculating, please indicate it so we're clear on what's canon or just a guess!I just completed my first playthrough of this game in October and have a couple questions of my own to get things started: - After the encounter with Xord at Bionis' Leg, the ether lines on his armor changed from red to blue, which seemed to compel him to flee to Colony 6. The game never seemed to explain it, so what was that about?
- What do you think Melia wanted to say to Shulk when the party was approaching the Apocrypha Generator? "You can..."

With the first, I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a visual indication that he received a recall order. It could also represent them powering down his weapon systems to force him to retreat even if he didn't want to. He was, after all, fully in control of his own actions, so having some type of failsafe built into his body makes sense.

Given how the Faces were protected from the Monado by integrating homs blood/biology into their armor, my thought was that the change from red to blue signified that Xord had run low on blood (or whatever essence it was) that granted him protection, and he retreated because he became vulnerable to the Monado. That could explain his appetite for homs, because he could consume them to refill his supply. I don't recall anything like that coming up again, so maybe Xord was a sort of imperfect prototype Mass-Produced Face.

It is rumored that he is only a brain stem and not fully functional like the other faces which would make him a failed first prototype.
