Granted, I know you guys (and myself) are mainly Nintendo fans, but still, hype.
The battle system seems fairly different, but otherwise seems mainly faithful.

I used to be a huge FF fan..... FF6 was indeed my favorite in the series... However, FF7 was no slouch either.... I love the change of perspective, I LOVE the new environments... But damn, that battle system.... Ugh... It makes me want to puke. I would of loved if they did that types of graphics and perspective, but make it menu based, with sweeping action camera movements... That would have made it very modern while still keeping what many people loved of FF7.
I think it is very safe to say this will be making its way to NX as well. But meh....

Honestly I hope they're meaning something like, say, Final Fantasy VII be one episode, Crisis Core another episode, maybe something new as another episode, etc., like something similar to Xenosaga in a way I guess. Not splitting the actual FFVII game into multiple parts. That seems like a really bad move if they do the latter, and a lot of people would be (if not already) ticked off. Granted I'd still buy the game(s?), but I definitely wouldn't like that choice.

The original battle system is what made FFVII a huge thing for me since it was one of the first ATBs I had experienced, I actually played the older games after VII.. so seeing them use a more ARPG battle system looks really weird for me >.> Especially when you consider fighting to be a huge chunk of what you do in the game, and how it'll affect story bosses, super bosses and so forth. I can't say I was one of the people demanding a remake (I'm more of an FFIX fan at heart), but I do feel like they're going to let down a lot of old fans who wanted a more true to the original remake. But who knows?
