I figured it would be cool to share our thoughts on the story up to a certain point somewhere. I love to read what people think.
Keep in mind, no spoilers for anything other than chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Anyway, to kick things off; Here are the main mysteries so far in my opinion:
1. Why did the alien races battle two years ago? 2. Who was the mysterious defender of the White Whale? 3. Why are the Prone so intent on killing humans? 4. Who is Goetia and what is her motivation? Answer: A Ganglion who is intent on exterminating all humans. 5. Why does the number on the BLADE tower decrease? Answer: To signify the amount of mim fuel left. 6. How are the humans able to understand the languages? 7. What is the Great One that Luxaar is talking about? 8. What is the giant black Mech that we found? 9. What was that thing than Vandham wanted to bring up about Elma in the hangar? 10. Why did the huge flying monster save us from the Tainted?
Do you have any cool questions or ponderings so far?

Just completed chapter seven! I have to say, this was probably the least interesting chapter since chapter two. No new mysteries. Sure, we got to see more of Goetia which was fun, but other than that not much happened. We didn't learn anything important regarding the main mysteries. I wonder, did Goetia die? Her Skell was destroyed but no one said anything about it. I'm gonna assume she died, which is super sad cause she was pretty badass. Too bad we didn't get a final scene of her taunting us. I guess we did learn that the Ganglion knows about the time limit the humans have before their fuel runs out, but that wasn't such an interesting reveal imo. Well, it was a nice boss battle so I can't complain too much.

Yeah it was really kind of unclear whether Goetia died or not. I agree on it being a disappointing chapter overall. I'm pretty sure some ****'s about to go down in Chapter 8 though so it's fine.

Okay. Just finished chapter 7. And I have to say that that was the most anticlimactic chapter ever. It was building up to be something huge, and then fell flat on its face. Now don't get me wrong, the Almandal was super cool and the use of NO.EX01 was so amazing that I did nothing but auto-attack for the whole battle to hear it more. But, unfortunately, everything else wasn't as good. It didn't touch on any of the previous mysteries, except for the fact that the Ganglion know pretty much everything about humans. But even that I felt like the game just casually threw that in as an after-thought.
Goetia's death was awful (assuming that she did indeed die. If she didn't, then I take my words back). She died without any character development whatsoever and she didn't have any death scene. Her Almandal just exploded and that was that. I do have to note that this was an awfully short chapter as well, which didn't help its cause.
Anyways, overall it was my least favorite chapter since chapter 2. The best thing about it was NO.EX01. Other than that, it was pretty dull. I do know that chapter 8 is one of the best chapters though. So I'm really looking forward to that. It might be a few days before I get to that, though. I've got some more questing to do!

Yeah, chapter 7 is indeed the most underwhelming of the bunch, with Goetia's death being a very sloppy/poor ending to a character one would've expected more development for. I won't say anything more on that or related subjects to avoid possible spoilers. But yeah, chapter 8 is definitely a treat! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I think Chapter 7 and Chapter 10 are really underwhelming, but yeah, Chapter 7 is worse, although both of them have the same problem
Chapter 7 exists solely to give a climactic death to an underdeveloped character. Goetia, when she showed up in Chapter 4, seemed like a character who despised humanity on a personal level. She seemed powerful, and she seemed like she would be showing up to destroy things that humanity finds, and she seemed like she would show up in the last chapter in an attempt to destroy the lifehold core.
But no, she doesn't show up in Chapter 5 trying to capture the Ma non or to taunt the party as Cross loses their arm. She doesn't show up in Chapter 6 to attack you as you investigate the Vita
She just shows up in Chapter 7 and dies and honestly, when I encountered her, I forgot who she was
For Chapter 10, just replace Goetia with Ryzz and you get the same problem

Welcome to Xenoboards! I too wish that Goetia and the other lesser villains would've gotten more screentime. That is one of this game's flaws. They just don't feel threatening enough. Oh, also, you might have to edit out the last paragraph about chapter 10 due to spoilers, sadly. :/

Good points. The nobody prone of Chapter 5 and the random monsters from Chapter 6 were wasted opportunities. Why not have Goetia show up there? It feels like the villains were designed as boss fights first and characters second. Like with Goetia, it feels like they decided they were going to design a ground fight and a skell fight for her and then that was it. That's all they used her for. Maybe they were afraid of getting repetitive with Goetia. The worst thing about her death though is how anticlimactic it was. You don't even see her die. You beat the boss, yes, but the following cutscene is just the smoldering wreck of her skell. The best part about that chapter though: "... as your features twist in agon-"
